Afro-cuban music

Being a musician myself, I just couldn't resist the opportunity to jam with local musicians in Havana.

Here you will find short samples of EXCLUSIVE all-digital recordings of Grupo de cajones, guiros y fundamento Omí Tó Miré made during my visit to Havana in 2006. These are fine examples of authentic afro-cuban chants, still commonly used in Cuba during santeria rituals.

2. Ogun 5. Eggun
3. Llemaya y Oshun

Most pictures on this page are taken during the actual recording session. I would like to mention that Joe Sbrocchi, a talented songwriter, made this recordings possible by providing his digital sound recorder (see picture below). Thanks, Joe!
